While many Australians went to church today we visited many on the outside. All part of the Armidale Historic Bus Tour which takes you on a 2 and a half hour tour of the best collection of old buildings and incredible brick work from years gone by. The City of Armidale is known as the City of Churches. I can't tell you how many are here, but at least 5 and 8 high schools, one University of New England which is a huge campus, 13 primary schools and some of the schools are boarding and co-ed schools too. The photos attached today are a sample of the buildings we saw. It is a city of opportunity and a water supply designed for a population of

90,000. The present population is only 25,000. The house prices are great, but they tell me that the weather takes a bit of getting used to in the winter. Today was 7 min and 20 max with a heavy shower of rain this afternoon and a cool breeze to go with it. So after our tour Helen did the washing got it all hung out and down came the rain. So I set up a temporary line under our awning and the clothes may be dry by the morning. 5 Crowns is getting a caining, the cards are getting a well used look about them. But it is still a good thinking game and one that fills the space during adds on TV. We can get SBS, 7 Prime, ABC, Ch9, and very little news on Queensland, it is just as if we are in another country. So tomorrow we hope to see the 200 Vintage cars which will be at the race course which is just up the road from here, so tomorrow will be vintage day.

It always rains when you are on holidays
