Drove from Vancouver to Penticton - took 2 hours to get out of Vancouver, then another 3 - 4 to get to the Okanagan Valley.

Penticton is quite pretty and between two lakes, both of which have nice beaches.  However, the temperatures soared to 98 degrees (it is the 'pocket desert' area of BC) so we were glad of the aircon in the car and the hotel.

Driving a Police Interceptor Vehicle ...

Our car, BTW, is a Crown Victoria, which is the type of car used by the RCMP ... not sure if this helps or hinders, but some cars definitely slowed down when they saw us !  It is huge with big comfy seats, but can really shift if you put your foot down.  We thought we should be wearing stetsons until we saw what the real cowboys drove - monster pick up trucks !
