Hangliding..... check.
From European Vaca Summer 06 in Interlaken, Switzerland on Jul 18 '06
So I make it to Interlaken after Lucerne. I'm expecting big things from Interlaken from what Iìve been told by others that have been there.
It was OK, but the town itself wasn't the coolest thing. I stayed in a pretty shite hostel called Funny Farm. It was a party scene kinda, and the more booze you could handle or the more drugs you could smoke the cooler you were apparently. Everyone shares stories about how they got wasted here and loaded there.. It set me off to a bad start. On top of that, again, I'm in a room full of non-English speaking Koreans. As with all other Koreans, 6:30am is their wake up time. At this point I'm fed up but I let it go.

Really, I'm in the Swiss alps. It is so beautiful. The majestic size of some of these mountains is inspiring. Everyone comes here to do adventure sports and hiking.. After doing canyoning in Lucerne, I chose hang gliding as my evil in Interlaken.
Man, what a blast. I have photos as proof that I was like a bird in the sky. God knows my head is usually in the clouds anyways, now I have proof for those that don't believe me!! It was such a rush I tell ya. And it was so beautiful and peaceful up there. I wasn't even afraid for an instant. Check it out, you had to stand with the pilot, and start running off a cliff. All it took was like 6 steps and we were airborne after falling from the sky. So cool. I highly recommend it. It isn't the biggest show by any means here. That belongs to Paragliding, which is similar to hang gliding, in that you walk off a cliff, but with this you do it with a parachute. Seemed like less of a rush, and it was unreal how many people were doing it. At any point in time, you can look up and see 15 parachutes in the sky. So cool.

A lot of relaxing in Interlaken. Did a bunch of reading and walking and mountain biking. Things got better when I switched hostels and went to the Backpackers Villa hostel. People were so much more chill and friendly. It was great. Did some laundry, bunked with MORE Koreans (they OWN Switzerland) that woke up at 6:30am for no reason. I finally lost it and raised my voice on my last day there. That seemed to shut everyone up and we all went back to sleep, peacefully, blissfully. I had a smile on my face anyways.
