Last Friday I went to Jyväskylä to visit my friend Eija for the weekend. I took the bus and I can tell you that the scenery was gorgeous! We past many lakes and forests. I know that the bus is slower then the train, but I think that it is so worth it for the view that you get. Plus bus is cheaper :)
After arriving round about 3:15pm, Eija met me at the Travel Centre where the bus and trains arrive/leave from. After that we went to Prisma to get some food before heading back to her place.

Later that afternoon we got ready to go and meet Eija's friend Tiina at a boat on the lake to have a few drinks. When we arrived we had just learned that Tiina's two brothers and their wives had just arrived no longer then two minutes before us and Tiina's friend was there also. So I got myself a Lapin Kulta beer and later on in the evening, Tiina's brothers kept buying us Finnish Liquorice shots called Salmiakki which is very salty :) I think we had like 3 or 4 rounds. I was kinda tipsy afterwards, but nothing like Tiina who couldn't even walk her own bike properly :S Tiina as I just said was drunk, so Eija offered to give her a lift, so Tiina and I went to find a place to park her bike and Eija was going to go and meet us at the parking spot. But we soon got a phone call from Eija saying that her car wouldn't start. We walked back to help her - and at first we were successful, but then we couldn't get the car to start. Some guys saw us in the parking lot and they came over to give us a hand - and the car started to work. So then after finally finding a place for Tiina's bike for the night, we jumped in Eija's car and went into the city to get something to eat. We decided to eat at Memphis and it was a nice little snack that Eija and I got.

I think we got home around 2am or something like that - and then Eija and I just laid in bed and chatted for a while.
The next day Eija and I decided that was it was such a great sunny day - we would go to the beach. On the way to the beach Eija showed me her school and then we off we were to the beach. It was so awesome to see the beach as it is a lake with sand near it. Like it is nothing like the beaches back home in Australia and it was exciting to see the difference. We found our spot to sunbath and we were able to watch some guys playing volleyball and they were very good at it.

Then we went swimming in the lake a couple of times, then continued to sunbathe. After 4 1/2 hours, and barely any sunscreen - I ended up with very burnt legs and a burnt back..... ouchy!! I can tell you now that it hurts :(
So that night we met up with another friend of Eija's called Essi and we went for a couple of drinks in the city, then we headed home early. Eija and I had fun going back to her house after being dropped off by the bus and we took a short cut into the forest to her house :) She is so funny! A great chick! So yeah we went to bed not long after getting back to her place.

On Sunday Eija, Essi and I decided to go to Petäjävesi which is like 15 - 20 minutes from Jyväskylä to go and see a church that is completely made out of wood. It was built between 1763-1764 and it is right by the lake there in the town. After visiting the church we went to the supermarket to get some food and then head down to the beach which is also a lake with sand :)
The weather was starting to get cloudy so we decided to go back to Jyväskylä, have a rest at Eija's house before going into town to have dinner at a place called Sohwi. It started to really rain Sunday night, even lightning hit and the light in the restaurant nearly sparked.... so after dinner we had to run to Eija's car :) We watched a movie when we got back to Eija's house and then later went to bed.
