  • Feeling refreshed after a good nights sleep; we decided to walk into the heart of Berlin. It is a nice and happening place with plenty to look at. Coffee in one hand, we found Kev’s dream car on the way to Brandenburg Gate. Bugatti Veyron- WOW… we wish!!! We arrived at the gate and were both amazed at how big it was and how well they had restored it. Tiles along the road marked the location of where the wall once stood. After collecting a few souvenirs, we walked our way across to the remaining wall via a WWII memorial. Very different but effective. We arrived at the wall and the area underneath it is what shook us the most. There was a series of photos and information about the war and Nazi rule. Very powerful stuff and many photos had us speechless, as it was just a brutal time in history. Our last stop was Checkpoint Charlie (Allied checkpoint to cross from one side of the wall to the other). We grabbed a bight on the way back to camp, had showers etc and set off north. We arrived in a beautiful town called Waren where we found our camp with ease and went for a walk into the town centre. It was all lit up with Christmas lights in a little cobble stone square in the middle - all overlooking a bay. Gorgeous town, yet very quiet as no one wants to tackle the cold!
