Leaving Chau Doc Vietnam for Phnom Penh Cambodia we travelled by river boat to the Cambodian border where we crossed with ease yay.  After another 3  hours by boat we arrived in steaming Phnom Penh, the temp was in the 40s. We had a relaxing afternoon at the happy pizza restaurant where you can order a happy pizza (laced with happy herbs :).  The following day we visited the Genocide Museum which was originally a high school but was converted into a prison in the Khmer Rouge reigme and was used for torture of Cambodian people who were later transferred to the killing fields if they weren't already dead from their tortures.  This was quite horrific and certainly had a great effect on us all, the Khmer Rouge killed over 3 million Cambodian people in their time wiping out 1/3 of the population.  After the genocide museum we visited the actual killing fields which are just mass graves over acres of land, this is one of many mass grave sites in Cambodia, as horrible as it was there was a sense of peace.  As you walked around you could see many bones and clothes of victims sticking out of the ground.  Very very sad, it has certainly given us both a higher respect of the Cambodian people.  Pehom Penh is still a very much developing city, but is starting to get there with an influx of tourists.
