Took a 16 hour bus to Bogotá as the race back to Buenos Aires began. Got there 23 hours later and after checking in to a hostel went straight to the Police Museum I’d heard such good things about.

Free to get in and they even gave you an English speaking guide but it was close to their closing time so we only got to do the bottom floor.

It’s all about Pablo Escobar and his evil buddies and had displays of all the things they confiscated from him including a Harley with gold eagles on it and a variety of weapons – some with ‘U.S. Army’ engraved down the side. There were plenty of photos too, including the famous snap the police took of him lying dead on a rooftop with a group of beaming policemen posing behind him from when they finally stopped him. There was a room with the communications equipment that was donated by the British and U.S. to help track him down including one of only 5 satellite phones in existence at the time.

Like lots of people had said to me it was well worth the visit, unfortunatly no photos allowed.
