Jodhpur, la ville bleue!

Sophie: Et oui ! Après la ville rose, la ville bleue !! La principale attraction c'est le fort magestueux (le Fort de Mehrangarh) qui se dresse sur une petite colline au milieu de la ville, vraiment superbe ! Très bien conservé et entretenu, c'est un régal de le visiter...On s'est dit que lorsque les anglais ont débarqué dans le Rajasthan, ils ont dû sacrément être impressionnés par la beauté de cette architecture et la décoration des diverses salles, d'ailleurs ils sont devenus très copains avec le Maharajha de Jodhpur!(vacances sympas assurées!)

Et tout autour du fort, il y a plein de petites ruelles habitées pleines de charme, la place du marché, de l'horloge...Ca bouillonne de vie!

Le deuxième jour, on a loué des motos et avec un jeune guide on est partis dans la campagne visiter des petits villages où les gens vivent de l'artisanat (poterie, agriculture, confection de tapis...)

Sur la moto, Rod était comme un gosse avec un nouveau jouet !!! Il s'est pris pour Poncherelo, libre comme le vent !

Dans les villages où très peu de touristes se rendent, c'était carrement génial ! Les gens super contents de nous montrer leur savoir faire, ont Ã©té très accueillants... Du coup, pour la première fois j'ai tenté de faire un pot en argile (je dis bien "tenté" parce que le résultat a Ã©té catastrophique!), j'ai aussi moulu du grain pour la farine, avec une "super mamie" qui nous a montré avec fierté le moindre détail de sa maison en terre et au toit de chaume... On a bu le thé avec toute la famille et on a passé un super moment ! Rod a même dû refuser l'opium que le grand père lui proposait ! On sait, Ã§a ne se fait pas de refuser l'hospitalité des gens, mais il fallait quand même ramener la moto Ã  Jodhpur!!

Voila..à ne surtout pas manquer, le coucher de soleil sur le fort entouré de la belle lueur bleue des maisons... Fantastique!

Sophie: Yes! After the pink city, the blue city!! Its main attraction is the magestious fort at the top of a small hill in the middle of the city, really amasing! Still in a very good state and well maintained, it's a pleasure to visit it!... We thought that when the English arrived (should I say invaded?) in Rajasthan, they must have been SO impressed by the beauty of the architecture and the beautiful decorations of the diferent rooms... They actually became very good friends with the Maharajha of Jodhpur!(Great holidays guaranteed!)

And all around the fort, there are lots of charming narrow lanes where the most modest people live, the market place, the clock tower...Very lively!!

The second day, we rent 2 motorbikes and with a young guide, we went in the countryside to discover small villages where people live from making pottery, tapestries, rugs and agriculture.

You should have seen Rudi on the motorbike!! Like a kid with a new 'super-toy'!!! Free like the wind!!

Visiting the villages where very few tourists go was a brilliant experience!  The people were pleased to show us their skills and were very friendly! So, for the first time, I tried to make a pot with some argyle (I did say "tried" because the result was a catastrophy!). A  "Super Nanny"  showed us with pride every possible detail of her house made of mud and cows' number 2...We had a cup of tea with them and had a really lovely time! Rudi had to say no to the opium that the grand father wanted to share with him! We know, it's very bad to refuse  people's hospitality, but Rudi did have to bring the motorbike back to Jodhpur!

Other than that, the sunset on the fort with the blue colour of the surrounding houses is not to be missed, absolutely superb!!
