KL - hot & humid

When I woke on Wednesday morning the rain had gone, so excited by the prospect that I would be able to stay upright, I sent off up to the Petronas Towers.
One of the first things I noticed (& has since been reinforced) that the roads here are mental!!! There are crossings, but no one takes any notice of them. Bikes mount the pavement when they are bored of the traffic.
I wandered round the shopping mall and the Park while I waited for my slot to go up the towers. There are loads of shopping malls here and they are huge. The one opposite the hostel has a rollercoaster in it!

We were made to sit through a corporate video by Petronas (rubbish) before we went up to the platform. It was free, so I didn't feel too ripped off by the fact you only go up half way. The views from the KL tower (which I went to afterwards) were far better.
In my guidebook it says to "avoid the temptation to walk everywhere , you'll probably become exhausted by the combined effects of the humidity & traffic fumes" I arrived back to the hostel late afternoon a disheveled mess - maybe I should have listened!
