2:45 pm - START OUR TRIP!!
So, when we first got there we had no IDEA what to do first. Then, we remembered, oh yeah, we have a written out iternary of things to do. So after the hassle of checking in the hotel, setting line, unpacking, and changing clothes, we finally set out to start our vacation. We started off just getting something to eat, upon debating and having hard time deciding, we finally settled on New York New York restaurant called America. Shruti chose it, because she had heard that the place had a lot to offer. So we walk towards New York, and my god, it actually seems like we are in New York. The layout of the hotel and the structure is so massive that we are in awe. Also, the roller coaster going around the hotel is pretty cool also. So, we go in, and heard the clinging of slot machines people walking around and smiling and enjoying themselves, finally makes us realize, yes we are finally here. America had a lot of variety, but we were anxious to get our day started, quickly ate, and headed out to the Strip.
Walking up and down the strip can be a experience itself. You will see a lot of interesting people. Word of advise do not take what the people are handing out on the street, especially if you are with your family. There are plenty of attractions to see front of store and walking inside the stores. Everything seems to be overpriced, so be very careful when you shop! The strip is 1.5 miles long I believe, so walking can be a challenge but it beats the cab rate going from one place to another. Plus, you can go into different casinos and walk around.
Upon returning back to our hotel, we decided to go swimming, but only to find out the pool closed at 6 pm. :\. So we headed back to our room, took a nap and started to get ready to go the Bellagio Fountains, but not before a little gambling. I started with $50, lost it all, girlfriend got upset, put in another $50, and made it back with $20 extra :). THEN we head to Bellagio, but not before shruti had to change her clothes, because it was a bit chilly outside for a dress! So after that we head out to bellagio, saw one of the most fascinating shows, and then walk across the street to go to Paris (hotel). Like Paris was across the street :). When we entered we the ceiling was awe inspiring, almost makes it seems like you're in the clouds with casino machines all around. I noticed people carrying around Eiffel towers with drinks in them, about one foot tall (i know it's a huge drink!). After purchasing our tickets for the tower, we waited in line, supposedly a photographer was taking pictures of families, couples, or singles, so he took ours and said to check it out afterwards. So we went up the tower in a elevator, which was very scary, since I'm scared of heights and i was standing right by the door! So we walk out and look over the steel cage, all we see is LIGHTS, LIGHTS, and MORE LIGHTS as far as the eye can see. It was truly breathtaking and I wouldn't want to share that with anyone else besides my Girlfriend :) It was very exciting, the view and lights overwhelm you and the Bellagio fountain show from the top of the tower looks even better. However, it was very windy and coooooolllddd!! For $9 it was definitely worth it! Even though I am scared of heights, for some reason i felt safe and comfortable knowing my girlfriend is there and just the feeling was mezmorizing.
Upon returning to ground (personally i was really glad :)) we checked out the picture the photographer took, and WOW the picture i must say came out really well! So, shruti and I debate for 5 min. should we buy it or not buy it. The photographer kept saying buy it, buy it! the picture is really good, but i'm thinking that's his job, he's supposed to say that. So we decided NOT to buy it :(. The biggest mistake we made in the whole trip. We still regret it.
After Paris, my quest to find that Eiffel Tower continues, but only to be continued the following day, because the shop that offered it closed! So going back to our hotel, we stopped buy Le Salsa, and wow, this place did a complete 360! There was a dance floor in the place of dining tables, people were checking id's, which never happened during the day, because it was a family restaurant. We were hungry, so didn't care where we ate, so got some nachos, the best nachos i had so far in my life, i don't know if they really were that good, or i was slightly buzzed. But once that was over, we headed back to our hotel, to end our first day with some wonderful memories and many more to look forward to the following day.
End of Day 1.
