The weather has been uncharacteristically warm in London so far this spring, so we felt the need to spend some time outside and embrace it.  For a day trip we took the train to Windsor, with throngs of tourists, and then quickly headed up river.

We walked 6 miles down the Thames to the little village of Bray.  Bray may not be a traditional tourist spot but it is at the center of the culinary map, as there are two three star michelin restaurants in the town.  The restauarant that we went to see and photograph is The Fat Duck.  The Fat Duck has been named the best restaurant in the world for several years and is somewhere that Patrick felt strongly that he wanted to see.

Given that we had just walked all that way, we had no plans to actually go into the restaurant, but we did take some photos and Patrick studied the menu intently.  Maybe someday we will eat there, but we did get the next best thing.  The pub across the street from the restaurant is owned by the same chef, so we went in and had a bit of a snack.  This was no ordinary pub food, it definitely set the standards in fine dinning, pub style.

After our short stop we walked back to Windsor and then home on the train.  For our one hour in Bray, we spent 6 hours getting there and back, but it was worth every second.
