Well, it finally happened. As has transpired so often in the last nine months and change, I met great people, enjoyed myself immensely in their company, and bid them goodbye. If the institution of travel were to have a slogan, one would have to imagine it would be, "Well, this was fun. I hope we keep in touch." The neo-Beatnik backpackers that are all too common in hostels around the world love to preach the virtues of constantly meeting new people and making new friends, touting it as their reason for leaving their homes (or caravans), but only a fool would see that massive pile of good without at least remembering the rather sizable downside.

Shai and Zvika left on the bus to Iguazu yesterday, which was an event we all knew was coming and none of us had wanted to admit, but I must say, in all honesty, that this last month with them was a blast. For the sake of my own personal recollection (and my apologies to each and every one of you who won't understand any of these references), I feel like I need to list the things that made us laugh time and time again. So give me a second here:
-Whickshest? Have you danced... in this community... or...?
-Daniel stalling the Ketusha

-Ani Toro/Imesh gan eden
-Metzitzah gadol/Metzitzah katan
-Ma efshar la'asot ha'erev?/Ze ra'ayon tov
-Liora/Arizona/Ra'anana/Michal/Rabbi Smirnoff/Mini-Matisyahu/Lilach/Ana Paula
-The Wilkenny's
-"Can I tell you something without you getting mad? I love you. Yeah, you, big guy."
-"I wanna thank little baby Jesus, who's sittin' in his crib watchin the Baby Einstein videos, learnin' 'bout shapes and colors."
-So what do you guys wanna do today?
So that was that. A month of inside jokes, of stupid laughs revolving largely around the people we disliked around us, and of even stupider pictures that will never grace the cover of any travel magazine, but which bring a smile to my face more than artsy deserts and live volcanoes. L'chayim, l'chayim.
