Ariived on Shinkansen from Kyoto to a rainy welcome, checked in at hotel and paid a premium for not booking on the internet. Tried some more japanese food, noodles which were cooked in some kind of sauce that smelt like the donkey area on Weston beach, but tasted not too bad.
Next day Thursay we took the tram to the gardens and castle of Okayama called Korakuen Gardens, they are very pretty the cherry blossom was just breaking through they would be especially beautiful in a weeks time. The gardens had just had all the grass burned in a ceremony that happens each February. There were caged cranes in an aviary in the gardens.

After the gardens we crossed the river to Okayama castle, the castle is a concrete reproduction on the one destroyed in the war when Okayama was bombed flat like a great deal of other cities.
We then took the Shinkanasen to Hiroshima we checked in at the Comfort Inn hotel 11 stops on the tram from the station, after checking in we went out in search of food, tried Japenese again and found something we could eat in a bar that had a kind of BBQ. Then went to an Indian restaurnt and had a superb meal of curry and nan bread.
