Summer

Took a rest at this little water fall. Took off my shoes to dip my toes. Little fish nibbled at my feet.

The AT is starting to feel like a good friend.  A few days of farm fields, climbing over stiles and hiking up and down hills- it all starts to feel good and everything seems like it just falls into place all around me.

- I arrive in Atkins just in time to meet up with my friend for a big breakfast.

- We get to the "Partnership shelter" and, with the two other hikers there, can just polish off 2 large pizzas, which they deliver right to the trail head!!

- The sky is overcast when I cross the long fields that gave other hikers sunburns.

- Twice there were thunderstorms just as I'd settled into a shelter

- A Nobo offer me a map of the south before I can ask if he has one to spare.

- I cross a creek just as my bottles are starting to run dry.
