Dear friends,

I´m headed to Mexico for Ryan Wall´s wedding.  Her fiancee is from Mexico City.  In addition to going to the wedding, I took a couple of weeks off to travel around.

I started with an old trick...

I started with an old trick.  Look for the cutest girl at the airport, waiting to board on your flight and sit next to her.  I sat next to this cute Mexican with a nose ring, and then of course asked her about the weather in Mexico City as I didn´t know.  She was moving to the capital as a member of our state department, but seem to be disappointed in leaving the States.

So when I arrived in the capital, I took a cab to my hotel, Hotel Nikko.  I have never personally paid to stay in such a nice hotel.  It was a five star hotel in Polanco near Ryan Wall´s former home.  It has several restaurants and trendy bars.  My room had a remote control by the bed so I could control all of the lights.  The bathroom was entirely marble with granite countertops.  It was quite nice.  I walked over to the Hotel Camino Real where I ran into Ryan´s friends and we went for drinks in the hotel bar which had a glass floor over a pool of water.

The next morning instead of wandering into the city, I took advantage of my five star accomodations and went to the gym.  There was a trainer helping a woman work out, and I thought it was odd that she had a personal trainer at a hotel gym, but then I realized he was available for everyone.  Talk about service.  Later, I walked around Polanco and stopped by some cafes before catching up with the wedding group.
