Back at Home
From Return to Spokane in Spokane, United States on Aug 25 '07
Twenty six hours after departing Singapore we were greeted by Scott at the Spokane Airport. This was a great sight for weary travelers. To ease the jet lag we remained awake most of the day to settle into bed around 9:00 p.m. Now, three days later we are nearly adjusted although Sonja and I find ourselves waking at 5 to 6 a.m. for no reason. This will probably suit us well for our return to school and work which is one week from tomorrow. We have this week to become reacquainted with the western world and to catch up on ortho, PT, back to school shopping, best friends and sports teams. I must say that drinkable tap water and hot water on demand at all faucets is a great luxury.
On Saturday, Scott and I made a trip to the Bay Market and picked up enough food for Tom Yam soup which we both enjoyed for dinner. We also invested in a rice cooker! Sonja has rejoined with her friends Kelsi and Audrey, we have visited with the Conner-Raybucks and Daniel has caught up with Alex and Andrew. Everyone is happy to be home with friends and family.
