We arrived in the gorgeous Margaret river area and were greeted by lovely sunshine, beautiful scenery and great beaches. First stop was the Tingle Tingle trees which were viewed from a treetop walk. Although this was lovely and the trees were great, we couldn’t help comparing them to the Giant Sequoias in California which are just awesome. Anyway, we enjoyed walking in amongst the treetops and then made our way to Augusta where we saw the meeting of the Southern and Indian Oceans. There was even a sign pointing to both which Manoj and I found hilarious because we could stand one on each side and cover the word ocean (see pics!) We then made our way to Margaret River town and stayed in a campsite near two wineries and a gourmet cheese shop – we bought no wine though, just cheese! However, the next day we went on a gorgeous drive along the coast and saw some lovely beaches…and we stopped off at a couple of wineries just to have a quick taste. Manoj was driving so he only had a drop, although the law here says you can have two standard drinks in the first hour and one every hour after that! I’d be wasted! Anyway, the Leuwin winery was lovely so we bought a bottle from there! This will be our last wine purchase though as there aren’t any wineries up north…as far as we know!! Next stop Fremantle and Perth.
