We stayed in Carylon Bay but didn’t see much of the area. We were here to visit the Eden Project. The Eden Project is the world’s biggest greenhouse – a group of huge golf ball like structures, called biomes, heated to various temperatures to simulate rainforest and Mediterranean climates.

The whole site is located in an old quarry and is very impressive from a distance. As well as the biomes there are several other buildings – including the core with its roof based on the Fibonacci sequence – nice one ;-) The biomes, particularly the rainforest one, are very impressive with huge trees and lots of birdsong, although we didn’t see the birds. The best part was the ‘food’ section – I never knew there was a cola tree!

As the rain in Cornwall hadn’t stopped yet (no surprise for English readers…) we spent the next day in Bens indoor play centre. Great for kids and not bad for dads ;-) If you happen to be here with kids and it is raining you could do worse than visit here.

Dave.
