After a perfect ferry crossing where we were able to appreciate the Marlbourgh Sounds, we headed down to the small town of Renwick which is surrounded by mountains and vineries. We stayed in a perfect little hostel which allowed us to camp and gave us bikes. So after making a picnic we headed off to do some wine tasting. Our first stop was great as we ate our picnic in their grounds and sipped on chilled white wine !! We visited a few more places and enjoyed the free wine. It was a perfect sunny day ( our first one for ages ) and the scenery was stunning. We wobbled back to our hostel a few hours later. The following day we made our way to Nelson, driving through the sounds and stopping off to do some of the Queen Charlotte track, which is a 3 day hike amongst the sounds.
