I woke up this morning to more cloud than rain which was nice - the cloud forest living up to its name - but obviously that didn't last for long and it was back to the normal wet ways!  I got picked up and taken to a complex in a different part of the cloud forest than yesterday which caters to adventurous types more than nature lovers.

To start with I was trussed up in a harness and put in a group with an American school party, which was not nearly as annoying as it sounds.  We were taken up into the forest and then up a metal structure, from where we were attached one by one to a wire leading across to another structures amongst some trees about 200m away, and then razzing between the trees was the name of the game!  The first line was quite short and easy but after that they got quicker and longer and I wasn't too great at breaking which was interesting when I went flying into the dude at the end!  The best one zipped high over a semi-clearing and went on for so long that you couldn't see the end, which had disappeared into the clouds.

Also scary was the men at the top estimating your height and size and adjusting the rope length accordinly

There were eight lines in all but half way through there was a bit of a suprise.  We had to climb a kind of pylon thing and were then attached to a rope and literally pushed off a platform to swing about like Tarzan.  This was very scary before the rope went taut - similar to bungee jumping I suppose.  Also scary was the men at the top estimating your height and size and adjusting the rope length accordingly - there were a couple of near misses!!  But very fun.

Then I did a walk around the canopy via some suspension bridges which was cool - a bird's eye view and more quality cloud forest time.

This afternoon I went to the Monteverde Cheese Factory, which was set up by quakers.  It was good although they have only produced one original kind of cheese which isn't even particuarly exciting or tasty.  Apart from that they have copied recipes from England, Holland and Switzerland.  If I had a cheese factory I would definitely be experimenting!

I'm leaving the cloud forest tomorrow.  I'll miss it but I'm looking forward to getting somewhere a bit warmer where my clothes dry out properly!
