Update #13 - The Lucky One
From My New Home in Manchester, United Kingdom on Sep 01 '05
As I write I am sitting in an internet cafe on my extended lunch break listening to the Swans play West Coast on the internet! This is what I have to resort to cos no b4stard in this god forsaken town is showing it.
Anyway - it is now quarter time and the eagles are up by a goal. Very nervous!
So what else is happening?
Well firstly, I have a new job. I am now the HR Project Officer for Forth Valley (Falkirk) College. I had the interview last week and found out last friday that I was successful. It will be an hour door to door travel, but the opportunity is great as the next stepping stone to the big bucks. When I went for the interview they were looking for a HR Officer. It appears that they were impressed with my experience in Mergers that they have created a new role for me. Basically they have appointed someone else in the HR Officer role andI will be working directly with the Acting HR Director on the merger of the 3 colleges as well as looking after my own client group. I start on 12 September. Can't wait!
It also feels rather wierd that it is almost the Festival of Jason and I have no party to organise. Yes it is my birthday two weeks today, as it is a friday I will probably head out for cocktails and a wee dance! Just in case you need reminding it is Friday 16 September!
Last weekend me and a few mates went to Manchester for the weekend to celebrate Manchester Pride. We had a fun weekend. Wore the kilt on saturday night which as always was fabulous! The attention! But alas I was a very good boy because I know have a boyfriend! Yes that is right, I have a boyfriend!
You may remember me talking about a boy named Kevin. Well we met at the end of June. He was off to the Algarve to work, so I didn't think too much of it. Whilst he was away, we starting chatting online and got to know each other and started to quite like each other. He got back to Glasgow at the end of July and we started dating. Last sunday, after I got back from Manchester he came over and we started chatting and he mentioned that he would like to take things to another level. The funny thing was that I was going to stay the same thing to him the next day! So whilst it has been less than a week and I am not getting carried away. We are spending sat and sun together this weekend so it should be good.
So a new job, a new boyfriend, and hopefully a swans victory! All in all a fabulous few weeks!
