Belize is a huge success. Ended up being the perfect ending to our trip. We are basking in the sun and heat that left Jackie with a touch of heat stroke, and me a giant heat rash. You know me, always prone to some sort of skin disorders while traveling.

San Pedro is such a relaxing beach town with just the perfect amount of tourism to keep us occupied. Love the atmosphere with the beach bars that have live music every night that ranges from alternative, reggae, and acoustic. Not to mention the total lack of vehicles on the island, which leaves  golf carts as the most popular form of transportation. They are rented out by the day and even the locals drive them and have them licensed. We especially love the ones that are pimped right out with some blue lights and if we are really lucky have portable ghetto blasters. We have even heard the song Ghost Busters, it seems to haunt us and follow us wherever we go.The whole island has somewhat of a reggae/Jamaican feel and we have never been asked to buy more weed from random men on the streets. It's funny because we can be sitting on the street eating ice cream and they will come up and ask us to buy their weed. It usually ends up being the same guy that asks us,  but then again, he usually can't figure out if he is coming or going and forgets easily if he has already asked us. Love to run in to him. We get quite a kick of all the ingenious ways he has of popping weed into his daily conversation.

Met up with some men from London and have spent the last couple of nights hanging out with them. Had a really great time laughing and trying to figure out exactly what the hell they are really talking about.  Most of the time you think you know what they are saying, but then they throw in some sort of word or phrase and you get completely messed up. Love the accent though, and only the British can pull off the words brilliant and lovely without coming off extremely homosexual. On the upside, we were able to teach them a bit about Canada but I think one of the things they will take back with them is the proper meaning of the word gunt. Apparently they had never heard of the word and thought it was one of the funniest things they have ever heard.... It must be some sort of Canadian thing.

I spent the day snorkeling at Shark Ray Aley and was able to swim with sting rays and nurse sharks. It was so amazing. Can't quite figure out how Steve Irwin died since the sting rays were so gentle and calm around us. We were able to pick them up and pet them. We were able to feed the nurse sharks and have them swim around us. The real excitement came though when we saw the hugest "nurse shark" of the bunch. The six of us in our group thought it would be cool to swim closer and take a better look since our guide said that we could touch them. As we swam closer the shark swam closer to us. It was at that point that we could hear our guide yelling at us to get back. A Bull Shark had swam in and was in an area he usually wasn't found in. He ended up being 7ft long, and we had to wait until he swam away before we could continue. Not everyday that you end up swimming with real sharks!

Yea, I think that's how Steve Irwin died too, i think it was an accident maybe. I loved swimming with the sharks when we did it, but we weren't allowed to feed or touch them, they were pretty big!! It is such a awe-inspiring feeling being in the water with such big beautiful creatures!! P.S. i hate winter here.

"FYI" I think Steve Irwin got stabbed by the stingray's tail and that's how he died. I miss you buddy and I can't wait to see your pictures. I am thinking of you guys while I try to start my car in the -30/-40 degree windchill balmy Edmonton winter.
