"Oh yes" said the helpful receptionist at our hostel in Brisbane, "it’s not far to McLaughlan Street." HA HA! We spent the next 4 km cursing her as we made our way on foot through the city laden down with all our worldly possessions.

Our destination and the light at the end of the tunnel? Wicked camper van’s depot!!!

We were hoping for a cool design on our van, maybe some flowers or a witty slogan….we end up with The Goonies as our theme and the following ditty on the back door: "Its not how you catch the fish, its how you wiggle your worm." Nice! We have definitely grown to love it though even if the sight of a silhouetted Goonie staring at us as we make our way across a darkened car park is a little unsettling!

Jenn took on the responsibility of driving us out of Brisbane and I was navigator. All went very smoothly and we wound up at a rest stop at the side of the highway for the night where we met some fellow gypsies and cooked ourselves a damn fine tea on the little camping stove!
