i think if i make one more comment about how much it's like scotland someone will slap me
but it's so similar in climate (oh yes it's still raining!) and landscape and the fact you can't understand anyone
oh yes it's still raining!
we had a wonderful journey here on our luxury deluxe five star private coach or at least we would have if the coach had had suspension and the driver had been sane

as it was we spent 9 hours being thrown all over the place and as i was in the aisle seat i had to push my feet hard agaisnt the seat in front and hold on to the arm rest as hard as i could to avoid flying out of my seat, luckily my brothers driving has given me ample training for this kind of situation!
we arrived in McLeod Ganj at 5.30am in the pouring rain and after sheltering outside a hotel for a while we headed to the nearby village of Bhagsu where we had coffee whilst waiting for guest houses to open

the next day we did the usual move to another guest house - this time as the first one had been in smelling distance of a rubbish tip - had to walk to the top of a hill which wouldnt have been so bad had there been a road rather than a path of rubble interspersed with a river!
but the guesthouse we found is nice, small room but clean and the best internet cafe ever downstairs
after we had got rid of our bags and dug out our waterproofs we headed to McLeod Ganj to enjoy the birthday celebrations!
we arrived at the temple complex at about 12.27 and enjoyed the wonderful tibetan dancing until the show finished at 12.30, and everyone left
woo
so that was that, we had a wander round McLeod Ganj insted which is a very nice little town, colourful and lively and a little quieter and cleaner that most the towns we've seen so far
glad we like what we see so far as we're planning on staying for a while
xx
