Doing It Tough....Laos Style
From The Shadow of the Bat in Vang Vieng, Laos on Nov 29 '06
After waking fairly early and spending a few hours on the net, I exhausted what little energy I had left in my system after hitting it hard for so long and returned to the hostel. Both of us were definitely not on top of our game. We, therefore, made the sensible decision to give our livers and our bodies a bit of a breather and do absolutely nothing.
While everyone else headed to the river to do some bar promoting along the tubing route, my wonderful man and I spent the day curled up in the shade of the outside cinema and did as little as possible. Reading our books, relaxing and playing Sudoku, everyone else at the hostel appeared to have headed out to get wasted, meaning there was no noise apart from the occasional sound from the street and the trickle of the fountain in the pool.

The others returned in the late afternoon feeling a little bit merry, but even this wasn't enough to bring us out of relaxing. Apart from a small ping pong rally with Kat, the only difference from what we did all day to what we did all night, was that we swapped from reading to watching movies. Once everything closed up, we headed to our room to snuggle up in bed, safe in the knowledge that tomorrow had no possibilities of waking up hungover.
