Hey guys, Ashley here reporting from the smoky pc pong around the corner from me. After dealing with a certain amount of technical difficulty, things seem to be looking up. ahahaha.
My first weekend in Suncheon transpired without any shocking incidents, unless you count my sister buying a house. But that's not so much shocking as it is exciting. I managed to find my way all by myself to the grocery store, which was great considering my sense of direction. I was very proud for finding my way there. I know, small things please me.
Yesterday I conquored my washing machine as well. More small victories
Not only that though, but I managed to get a cab home, and tell him my address and have him know what I meant! Shocking eh? I managed to catch Lara Croft Tomb raider on the television (english with Korean subtitles), but then mysteriously last night I lost cable. Maybe I never was supposed to have it in the first place? Too bad though. I went from having five english channels including bbc world to none. boo... And then my vcr started fucking up this morning, and then my stupid computer felt like joining the club and wouldn't recognize my card reader so I couldn't edit the pictures I took. Not the most technologically successful day I have to say. But, I am pleased to announce that here at the PC pong, I can transfer my pictures from my camera to my memory stick, and the memory stick is still working in my computer. Hooray! All is well that ends well yes?
So for those of you who don't know, my work hours are crazy weird, I work 3-10pm every day, which I actually really like. It allows me to sleep in, get up work out, go for a walk or shopping or whatever, and get everything done that I need to. I like this schedule, although I admit that I am tired when I get home usually.
Yesterday I conquored my washing machine as well. More small victories. This may not seem like a small victory, but it is, becuase they look totally different, and all the buttons are in Korean (obviously). The rice cooker is next I tell you. ahahaha...
I think that I'm going to go buy myself some flowers too because I stayed way under budget last week, which is super sweet. Being fed at work every night helps one conserve money. Also, I've managed to find roasted chicken at the grocery store, so yesterday I had roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and swiss chalet dipping sauce. IT felt like home.
Anyways, I'm going to post pictures now so I must end this. All my love to all of you.
Ash
