First day in Indonesia. Most people decided to stay in the hotel after almost a day traveling to get there. I and a few other people deceided to take a taxi that would bring us to all places we would like to visit.

After 45 minutes wrestling through heavy traffic we reached the part of Jakarta where you still can find some colonial buildings. Found some buildings with Dutch influences, but sadly a lot of them are in bad condition and need repair.

Moved on to the old harbour where traditional ships from other islands were loaded and unloaded. Most of them are in hands of shipowners from Sulawesi.

Then we drove to the fish market, where fishermen are trying to sell the catch of the day. Something smells fishy there.

Drove on to the national monument and walked there for a couple of minutes. After that we went back to the hotel.
