Well, we finally arrivedd in Honolulu ( in Oahu ) in Hawaii. Of course we thought that we had everything organized and figured out, but we were proved wrong. We figured out the bus sytem for the first 4 hours after we arrived there and also found out that although the island has a very good bus system, most of the camp grounds are off the beaten path. So after searching and riding the bus for a couple hours and walking around with our back packs on, we finally booked into a hotel in Waikiki ( only paid $ 55/night, that was very cheap). The next day we decided to rent a car and that was the best thing. So the rest of the time we camped at different camp sites and most of them was nice with interesting outdoor showers.........its definitely an experience to shower un a tree while it is raining and knowing that everybody that walk by can see your legs....!

We are very inpressed with our tent, because it held up very good even in very strong wind. All of our camp sited have been right on the ocean, so you wake up 6:00 in the morning with the sound of the waves. And the other thing that Graeme cannot stop raving about is our little back packing stove......it cooks very fast and is very easy to operate....so we had some lovely salmon stew and lots of other dishes.

one of the msot exciting things we did, was visiting the Polynisian Cultural Center ( that's where the photo was taken ). It is sponsored by the Univeristy of Hawaii and it try to give people an idea of the culture of some of the Polynisian islands. We spend almost a whole day there and learned very interesting things there.

Anyway....we also discovered the value of bying a whole rotissorie chicken and eating it for 2 days...! We also visited the largest maze in the world at Dole pinapple plantation....that was pretty cool. Also visited the USS Arizona Memorial ( this is the site of one of the battle ships that were bombed by the Japanese in Pearl Harbour, during world war two. Over 1000 men are still engraved on the ship, because they were unable to be saved and taken out. )

Well, this are some of the things we've done so far. The scenery are absolutely beautiful and it is definitely worth to rent a car to see all the things that are off the beaten path.

Both of us are still doing well.

Thats all for now!
