Final stop of the tour, New York lives up to its name completely. It is a spectacular and crazy busy city, 24hrs a day!
Approaching the Manhattan skyline at the end of our trek America tour, you could see straight away the shear scale of the city and its massive skyscrapers! I hung out with a few of the guys off my tour for most of my time in NY and we visited a lot of cool sights (there’s so much to do you’d never get round everything tho).
One of the first place we visited was Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty – which I went inside. The financial district is beside the ferry terminal to Liberty island so we visited wall street and ground zero while there. The massive hole left in the ground from the twin towers is mind blowing and you I certainly got a much better perspective standing there of just how much destruction was caused on September 11th.

Amongst other things I walked around central park, toured the CNN NY news studios (where most of CNN’s week day current affairs is broadcast from), and visited Trump Tower with its golden entrance and lower floors shopping mall with perfume scented air (I had to go there being a big fan of The Apprentice). I also went up the Empire State Building, tho it wasn’t such a good night when I went up there, and visited the famous Rockefeller Centre Christmas tree.
Being only a month from Christmas the city was full of xmas decorations like the tree and xmas sales at places like the 11 story department store, Macys. It also meant Times Square and Broadway in general were chocker full of people like I’ve never seen before. Its no exaggeration that there were almost as many taxis on the roads as tourists too!
