Flensburg, Germany is a short 2 hour car ride from Odense, Denmark.  Well, I think it is a short drive since all the landscape is new to me and I am new to the area.  We arrived in Flensburg at 10:00am.  Getting around the streets is easy, and so is finding a place to park.  The weather is a bit warm with a constant breeze.

Me and Jacob got to the pedestrian shopping part of Flensburg.  It's so amazing to see cobble stone streets, old German architecture, including the chruches, and the size of the district.  The crowds were small and the stores were many. At this time I had in mind a wide variety of things I wanted to check out.  Especially the toy stores.  But, once I got in a toy store my mind went blank.  I was overwhelmed by the variety of German toys.  I just went around in circles seeing everything I ever wanted to buy (trains mostly) and wishing I had about $10,000.00.  I finally told Jacob that I needed to get out of there.  Now I regret not buying anything.  However, if you ever go to Flensburg be sure to find a toy store (out of the way, off the beaten path) that sales only wooden toys.  There they make beautiful wooden music boxes, and you can choose any type of melody and look.  But! Be prepared to spend some money.

I now believe that the english translation for Fleggaard is crazy madhouse full of sodas, beer, liquor and wine.

After the toy store I regained my senses and got a little hungry.  Jacob suggested that I try fish and chips.  And now I suggest you try it too. Oh!  When people (natives) tell you don't worry about learning Danish or German don't listen to them.  You will feel left out.  So, learn as much Danish and German as possible.  Oh! And another thing.  Soda refills are not free.  I learned this the hard way.

Everything was going fine in Germany.  It is a very beautiful place, nice harbors, friendly people, shopping galore, and very good food.  Then all of a sudden me and Jacob went to a Danish store in Germany called Fleggaard.  I only wished I took pictures inside the store.  I now believe that the english translation for Fleggaard is crazy madhouse full of sodas, beer, liquor and wine.  The reason why we went there is for the cheap prices on sodas.  I grabbed a shopping cart, went inside and wanted to turn around and walk out.  I have never seen so many people fight for position to get sodas.  I finally just pulled to the side with my shopping cart, and stood there out of the way of the crazy Swedes, Norwegians, Danes and Germans.  I tell you.  It was crazy, and mad.  What an experience!!!

After leaving Fleggaard me and Jacob had a good laugh about my experience then we headed back to Denmark.  Jacob wanted to show me the only concentration camp Hitler had in Denmark.  So, that's were we headed next.
