Riga is the capital city of Latvia, with a lovely old town and a nice little park. We were able to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go in the town, though we did have a bit of an adventurer trying to go zorbing, but I'll get to that in a minute.

We're staying at a nice hostal where we met a group of british guys who went out with us for the night as well as a dane we knew from Lithuania. While we don't meet that many locals it is really cool how you get to know people from all over the world in the hostals.

Riga, a nice little capital

The next day I went to occupation museum, which was a lot like the other occupation museums/prisons that we've visited thus far but it's always good to see how things are different in such small countries so close together.

There is also a fest going on here so there are dancers and singers and even knights walking around old town in costume. We listened to some choirs as well as watched some traditional dancing.

We went to the market and sarah got food poisoning.

We wanted to go zorbing, a program through the hostel, which the take you out to the country and basically roll you down a hill in a human size gerbal ball with padding. We spent an afternoon finding the place to find out that the ball was busted. We got to swim in a river which was cool, but dirty to be honest.

Today we went to this out door museum with traditional latvian houses from different centuries and a huge woods/lakes to hike around.

Ok, there is line for the computer I better go. Tonight we start our long trek to Prague, spending one day in Warsaw on the way. Much love!
