Ready to leave at 8.30am, however Con lost his keys. Found them in Andy's jacket.

Andy needed oil, and we stopped at a small bike shop. The young guy said he was closed and we should have come yesterday when he was open - if only we had known! Gentle persuasion led to a bottle of oil - Andy used his technical skills and dismantled the bike. The shop guy said that BMWs did not need a 600 mile service only a 100,000 service - interesting concept.

Onto Leavenworth for a Bavarian breakfast and then on very fast roads. Slasher reached 85 - 105 mph chasing Hawk around one bend.

Such recklessness resulted in Slasher being stopped for speeding near Yakema. Hawk and Warrier hid behind a van until the coast was clear. Slasher given a verbal warning.

Headed to Sunrise point 6,400 ft at Mt Rainer. Snow on the top. Andy led us up - very quick and competent, although he did say he didn't blink for 20 miles.

Arrived on Packwood and stayed in a hotel (for the first time), built in 1912 (ancient) and where president Roosevelt had stayed - although not at the same time as us.

Popped into the Blue Spruce Saloon and there started a crazy night. Hawk shouted to the bar "the drinks are on me", and from that moment on we had real friends.

Drank - Duck Farts and Satans Blood and met Marty, Cindy, Paul, Brigit (LT) and Adam (Yukon). These last two trail names convinced us that our names were ok, and infact we have now named our bikes as well - Trigger, Dasher and Horse with no name.

A wild night and we promised to meet Paul at 8.30am the next day to go bear hunting. We were warned that he was a little strange. Saw his truck in the car park - full of guns! Oh well nothing ventured?
