First destination onboard the M.V. Explorer

I was so excited to visit Cozumel. It was the first port scheduled on our voyage. I had been at sea for two days and couldn't wait to see Mexico. Being that it was my first time in Mexico I was eager to see as much as possible. I would only have a short time because we where destined to set sail in the early evening. Our voyage would be two weeks visiting each port through Central America for only one day. The ship was based out of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl and was destined to sail completly around the world by April 2005. This two weeks was just the beginning.

I wasn't all that impressed with Cozumel. In my opinion the area that I was in was very boring. The town was undergoing reconstruction, so the streets where torn to pieces. Shopping was just about the only option for entertainment. This was a very touristy area. I wasn't able to travel outside the Port so I was limited on experiencing all that Cozumel truely had to offer. If i was able to go back for longer I'm sure my opinion might be different.
