La Paloma is spanish for Town of the Fleash Eaters
From 3000 Miles Just to Learn... in La Paloma, Uruguay on Nov 07 '06
Be warned, zombies have taken over the town of La Paloma on the atlantic coast of Uruguay, no one told us and the results were almost tragic. the town seems harmless enough at first, even looks a lot like sulivans island south carolina with some big ass waves, but the truth is that zombies have taken over the town and its no longer safe to be in. We walked around and assumed the emptiness was due to the siesta and that the funny looks were just to be chalked up being the only americans in town but as night fell and the town somehow became more empty, we realized that the flesheaters were loose. we were careful to stay to well lit streets and keep our shotgun near by, as everyone knows a blow to the head will stop the undead, and fortunatly they were not very hungery and we were able to avoid disater. After a harrowing night listining to their cries of agony about being undead and wanting brains and what not we managed to escape by the most indirect and slowest bus in all of uruguay, but we are safe.
When we made it to montevideo a local informed us that ¨guay¨ means zombie, thus paraguay is for zombies and uruguay is to inform you you are a zombie. None of the guidebooks or bus companies mentioned this, but we now understand why it was so hard to get here and the only way in is by boat.
Its like canada, but a canada filled with flesh eating zombies
So be warned, although it appears to be like canada, its actually more like canada filled with zombies, dont make the mistake we did. Dont come to Uruguay!
can you tell uruguay is really boring and this is all we could come up with to write about it? tomorrow to Buenos Aires again.
