This trip (my virgin entry in this digital journal) involves my not so interesting outing with the infamous band Rose's Pawn Shop.  I, as you might be wondering, am the person who sits behind the drums during the show.  My accomplices in this adventure are Paul, C-Bass, Derek, and Soda.

The day began with us all meeting at the abode of the aforementioned Sea Bass and climbing into the Grizz (a large van).  From there we made our trek to Lake Elsinore and found a quaint town with ample parking.  The weather was a bit on the warm side with the accumulation of engines, asphalt, and an angry sun overhead.  The visual was something that could have occurred over 50 years ago.  A long street with little shops on either side, and lining both sides of this main street were vintage cars and their owners sitting in lawn chairs.

Towards one end of this event was a scantily air-conditioned burger joint where we all enjoyed a meal (except for Derek who appeals to the belief that food can not be eaten in a tepid climate).  After lunch, we dispersed and alone I walked down the street eye-balling all the cars.  One car that caught my attention was a 65 Mustang with a very clean engine bay which gave me some ideas for cleaning up my own Mustang back home.  Once I had seen all there was to see, I met up with Soda outside the Wreck (the local bar).  Instead of joining the patrons within, we sauntered down the street following a street sign which read "Boat Launch" in hopes of finding the namesake of the town.  After a left turn and a few blocks we stood in front of a very large lake where many people were taking advantage of the water on a day like this.  The streets were lined with cars, boats, and people.  Looking across the lake I could see jet boats, seadoos, and other watercraft shoot across the water in front of a back drop of mountains.

Soda and I arrived back at the stage to find out that our performance time had been pushed back half an hour (typical).  So, as good musicians, we joined the rest of the crew at the Wreck for some drinks.  I, of course, was only drinking water (mainly because it was 3 in the afternoon!), but I think it was a wise decision for me considering the risk of dehydration while on stage (not good).  Anyway, the stage was comprised of risers with an attached tarp style roof.  The sound was adequate for an outdoor venue and I was happy to find my own personal monitor!  The show was good and everyone played well.  We even got some dude to dance some insane looking jig.

The trip back was nice, quiet, and uninterrupted except for when we had to make a pit stop at In-N-Out Burgers (remember the guy that wouldn't eat earlier because of heat...)
