halloween at miajadas

my host invited me to join her and her family for the weekend at miajadas, a town about 4hrs bus journey from madrid.

at night, her family and friends gather by the fireplace. i was with a big group of strangers, laughing and talking in a language that i cannot understand...but i felt very comfortable.

we were not prepared for halloween but we decided to hit the pub downstairs anyway. the waiter frowned at us, the misfits, and dragged us into the staff quarters and preceeded to paint our faces. now we are ready to hit the streets! tricks or treats!
