Student Ambassador Trip 2005
From Student Ambassador Trip 2005 in Paris, France on Jun 09 '05
Day 1 - June 9th We spent today on a plane. Not much to say except in Chicago we all ate as much American food as possible.
Day 2 - June 10th Today spent 5 hours in an airport in London. We slept or went shopping. We met our delegatio manager Dan once we got to Paris. Dan is British and really nice. We then had dinner and met the Texas delegation. On our way to the hotel, we got our first look at the Arc de Trimophe, Lourve, and Eiffel Tower. I am roomed with Christy from Texas and Amanda from my group. I can see the Eiffel tower from our window. I can't wait to see but can wait to go up it.
Day 3 - June 11th Today I got up at 6 am. The first thing we did was we went from our hotel to the Arc de Trimophe. There we met Michelle, our guide, after she told us some history about the Arc, we got off and took pictures. Most of the MN/ND delegation went undernearth the road stood under the Arc. It was so beautiful, I've never seen something like it before. After that, we drove around while Michelle told all about Paris and its people. We went past the Lourve, whose outside looks like a beehive, and toured the Students district. We also the place we Naploeon is buried. The church is beauitful with a gold dome on top. We then drove past a statue of Joan of Arc and the Opera House. We then had a tour of a perfume museum and shop. I was looking more at the ceilings, walls, and fireplaces than the perfume antiques. Then can the Lourve. We all got these walkie-talkie type of things so Michelle could talk to us because there were alot of people there and we couldn't hear her if we didn't have them. We first got to see the inverse pyramid (that has alot of signifigance if you have read the Da Vinci Code). We then saw the foundations of the Medaevil Lourve. The Lourve was actually a palace until the French Revolution. We saw the Venus de Milo ( the lady with no arms). We then got to the Mona Lisa. We was okay but really dark and small. We then went for a river boat ride. Some of us sat outside, we could only see one side of the river but it was fun. I got soaked! From our side of the boat you could see Notre Dame, the Lourve, the Alexander III bridge, and the Eiffel Tower. We then headed back to the hotel and slept (yeah!)
Day 4 - June 12th
