Today, after a nice breakfast, we headed East on I-90. We stopped in Gillette, WY for diesel ($4.27 a gallon) and happened upon a Wal-Mart so I took advantage. From there we headed to Devils Tower National Monument. We had trouble deciding whether or not to stop there but we are sure glad we did. It is an amazing sight. We camped at the National Park Campground right under the tower. After unhooking the car we drove to the Visitor Center and hiked the trail a short way. Didn’t see any aliens (circa Close Encounters of the Third Kind) but they definitely could have landed on top. We really enjoyed relaxing at our camp spot. Played cards and had a nice dinner.
