WOW.  Oktoberfest was Amazing.  We  arrived Friday evening and immediately made our way to the main fair grounds, where we were surrounded by the most brilliant sights, sounds and smells.  Rides and Rollercoasters with bright lights and German festival music playing in the background;  Oven-roasted beer nuts, huge pretzels, and Brautwürst sausages were down every row.

The best part was, by far, the Giant beer gardens, where inside, people stand on picnic tables, clapping and dancing in their leiderhösen.

Hallie and I stood in line for the Haufbrau beer garden for almost an hour before we snuck in the door past the huge, German security Guard.  Once we were inside we squished ourselves into a crowded table, that are booked one year in advance, and waited for the waitress to serve us each a Litre of the especially brewed, delicious beer.  After one of these Litres we were feeling very happy.

The next day, we jumped right back into the festivities by starting our day with a Litre of beer and a German pretzel.  The time flew by and after spending all day in one beergarden we had just enough time for one of the fair rides before stumbling back to our very nearby hotel room.

Oktoberfest made me have a new-found respect for the German culture.
