Day 1 ½ continued after a three hour power nap in the “Crowne” my coworker Andrew arrived. His story made mine look weak, Delta nailed him for an over nighter at JFK without hotel –Ouch. So needless to stay he was pretty out of it after two days of travel on three of sleep per day.
Hey - where did the Sun go ? !!
We hit the ground running going to a supplier to our plant in Savannah. It is right on the Amazon about 70 miles from the ocean. Nice facility I was blown away by how spotless and clean it was for an oil plant. Then I found out the trick—the local pay scale is about 10% of USA wages so they could hire a boat load of good workers.

After our tour we went back to Conf. Room overlooking the river at six . I looked out the window - Hey were did the sun go? It is mid July and the sun was setting hard. The joys of living on the equator.
As far as the weather, Savannah is great training. It was no problem with a high of 85 and low humiday. They thought it was cool. So I think my time is coming.
After the tour we went straight to Belem’s answer to River Street. They converted about a mile section of old warehouses into upscale dinning circa 1900. Damn these people can hang late. For a Wednesday night they must have had over two thousand people still eating at 11:00 at night.
We hit the sack early since we had a five am wakeup for a “puddle jumper” flight into the jungle Thursday
