The most south-westerly point of Australia
From Around the Whole Wide World 2007 in Augusta, Australia on Jan 09 '08
We arrived in Augusta in the morning and set up the tent and by lunch we had visited the lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin and seen where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean. The weather was turning a bit cooler, up to now we had been experiencing 30 degrees + every day. After checking out the beaches and the clear waters on the way back into Augusta we had lunch at the last fish restaurant before Antarctica, good fish and chips.
Augusta was a very small town so we just stayed one night but it was very picturesque and would make a lovely relaxing spot, the campsite was right on the river so there were plenty of pelicans and other sea birds.
