Khao Sok National Park
From Thailand for a week! in Khao Sok National Park, Thailand on Apr 29 '06
Khao Sok was beautiful, the atmosphere was just wow- so quiet and peaceful, and the people were sooo friendly. We enjoyed staying in a treehut, exploring the grounds, findng the monkeys, night Safari (this was definately more of a me thing than a Nick thing, I had so much fun!! It was just the two of us and the guide trecking through the wilderness, not even really on a track, so it was amazing. We didnt actually get to see much wildlife, but it was a great walk!), riding an elephant through the rainforest, and finding a scorpian in our hut.
On the way there, pitch black on a lonely road, we had an interesting time explaining to our driver, who spoke very little English, the kind of accomodation we were after (silly me forgot to write down the name of the place we looked at online) but, after much confusion, pointing out the window, hand gestures etc I decided to draw a picture of a tree with a house on the top of it (haha you guys KNOW how dodgy my drawings are). Werent really sure if we had got the message across (or if we were actually headed for Khao Sok for that matter) until we arrived at a lovely little lodge which, HOORAH!, had treehuts!
