Tijuana stands for P.A.N.T.S

Tijuana was so crap we couldn't believe it.  We'd read about it being horrible but I don't think anything could have prepared us for it!  Well, what we saw of TJ anyway.  It kinda left us thinking 'oops, what if the whole place is like this?'

For those of you crossing the border by foot, here's how to do it:

After that experience, we decided to get out of there ASAP so jumped on a bus to Ensenada

Get off the trolley, you'll see a footbridge going over the motorway...that's basically the border.  Make sure you have at least $23 american dollars per person if you need the tourist card.   When you cross the motorway, go right, throught the turnstiles and you'll see office buildings on your left.  The first one is where you get your Tourist Card (if you're going further than Ensenada).  You then need to head down 3 offices to the bank and pay the dosh for the tourist card.  Then you go back to the first office and they finish it off for you!  After that you're on your own!  It's a good idea to know basic Spanish here as there's barely any English spoken...we relied on a couple of really nice people to help us!
