Little bit of information….

The Conquistadors first saw Mexico from the shores of Cozumel while searching for gold. Today, visitors to the island continue to seek out gold and silver jewellery in the shops of San Miguel while having a great time in the many local bars and restaurants. Plus the waters around Cozumel’s sheltered coral reefs make this one of the best snorkelling areas in the world.

What we got upta…

This was one of our last days before we went home and rather than go and explore the island we took the lazy way out and went for a beach break. Basically there is a beach here that you pay an entrance fee into. Included in the price is all you can eat buffet, frozen drinks laced with alcohol, soft drinks, deck chairs. Then for extra on the beach there is massage, jet ski-ing and snorkelling. Every beach activity you can think of is here as well as majorly chilling out on the last day of your holiday.

Am glad I chilled out but would have to go back to see what Cozumel is about as I really didn’t get to see any of it.

Myself and Niamh went jet ski-ing for the first time ever and that was great fun. Would highly recommend that.

When we left there myself and Ray decided to be really romantic and go on a sunset Catamaran trip. Again free drink included and it was either an underwater snorkel at night or else Catamaran trip. We decided on the boat. Am I so sorry I went on this as I was seasick for the entire trip. The staff were great though and had me sitting on the top of the boat. Couldn’t wait to get off. As soon as I did though everything was happy days again.

Ray decided since the ship was docked until 11pm that night (which was unusual) that he would treat me to some real Mexican food in a real Mexican restaurant. We headed into the town and found an authentic restaurant and the food was just gorgeous. I cant remember the name of it but I know where it is if I ever go back.  Had one of the nicest desserts ever that was made at the table and involved brandy and flames.

Three guys came over with little guitars and started playing at our table. Very cute! Was very sorry that our trip was coming to an end when we were walking back to the boat. Only another 8 hours to go and we would have to leave the ship and make out way home.
