Hassan is a reccomended base for exploring Belur and Halebid, accordingly to Lonely Planet...we beg to defer!
We are arriving to a conclusion about the girl who did the section on Karnataka for Lonely Planet: either she is 1) a complete nucase 2)strongly under the influence of psychotropic substances or finally 3) she's just not been to Karnataka!

Starting off with the hotel, in the mid-range cat, what a place! The bathroom was a vision of pit hell, the bed linen hadn't been washed in a while but reading its passage in LP one would think it was going to be a deluxe experience! ("Slightly upmarket", I don't know which "markets" this girl has been but certainly this one cannot be up nowhere).
As for restaurants.... Well the ones we passed by were atrocious so we ended up in a non recomended one, but anyways it was awful too...
The bus station is our most favorite place in Hassan, to get out!
