My Goodness My Dublin

We visited Dublin in bad weather conditions – bad even by Irish conditions as some of the roads were flooded.
We stayed in the nearest campsite which was nice, but waaaay out of town. It has bus access though, or you can do an ‘open-top’ bus tour which should get you into the city in 45mins. For 45mins read an hour and a half :-(
The weather was so horrendous we only managed two stops. First, Trinity College which has a world famous illustrated book. Apparently, you can only see a couple of pages and the queue for this was around 200m long in the pouring rain. Umm, no. Nothing else to see here either.

Next stop, the Guinness factory, what tour of Ireland would be complete without it J This is Ireland’s most famous export and no expense has been spared on the Guinness visitor centre - a seven story building topped with a pub! This tour is worth doing if you like your ‘plain’ (book ahead to miss the HUGE queues).
The bus tour was not good – I’ve done a couple of these now and am yet to be impressed. My impressions of Dublin are also not great it has to be said – but then the weather was horrible and we are travelling with children so we missed out on the legendary nightlife.
