A Long, Cold Weekend

From Chicago in January: Great Idea! in Chicago, United States on Dec 31 '95

We flew out to Chicago on Friday afternoon and made our way to Evanston, home of NWU, where Shannon went for 2 years before transfering to Delaware. We explored the city -- I got to see the Sears Tower and the Art Institute of Chicago. We also spent plenty of time hanging out with Shannon's friends in Evanston and in the city. As you might predict, it was absolutely frigid, -20oF with the wind chill. In most of the photos from the trip, our eyes are all that is visible. Scarves, gloves, hats, and earmuffs are absolutely necessary for any January visit to Chicago. It was a great time. I was impressed with Chicago. It was extremely friendly for such a large city, probably because it is really in the Midwest. I would love to go back one day, preferably not in January.
