Well, this is our last stop on our 6-month hiatus to Asia/Africa. The weather? Not so good. A bit of a disappointment, as well as the fact that alcohol costs more than anywhere else we've been because it is mostly Muslims here. And the Middle Eastern school holiday is still going full throttle, so the hotels are all booked (even in Melaka).

Melaka is a pretty quiet little city. Worlds away from Kuala Lumpur, but has its own little charm to it. It's located on the Straits of Melaka, so our hotel overlooks the water. Our beautiful hotel with the nice, big pool... which we couldn't use because the weather was so horrible! We walked around the city and visited Chinatown, where I got a custom-made peanut butter and banana sandwich (just like The King aka Elvis used to like em). Knowing that we are leaving in just a few short days, our taste buds are starting to reject anymore noodles or other Asian food of any kind, ready to get back in the American way of eating. Easy. Get what you want when you want it. I keep having these vivid fantasies of milk. A nice, ice cold glass of fresh Vitamin D milk. Just not the same in Asia. Chinatown had some pretty cool grafitti and a few furniture shops that we wanted to buy the heaviest things possible from (of course).

Some of these little carts were vibrating frighteningly to 50 Cent.

We checked out the history museum, which had quite the scene around it. People were being driven around on cyclos (a person a bicycle towing a cart behind them) that were decked out in flowers with a serious system (music, that is). Some of these little carts were vibrating frighteningly to 50 Cent. Needless to say, we didn't get on them. Visited the history museum instead. Not the most interesting museum I've ever been to, but hey... we've been a lot of places, and Melaka's pretty tiny!

Since weather really wasn't in our favor, we basically finished off our Excellent Asian Adventure bowling (where I won, much to Kev's (and the Muslim men playing next to us) horror and going to see movies. Transformers was great. Go see it. Nice plug, huh? Ah... Asia... we will miss you, but we will definitely be back!

For now, it's on to some family fun in Scotland and Norway!
