Let's get the wind in our sails and head south....

In July 2007 we left Florida on our sailing adventure.For some 1500 nautical miles and 6 months we motor sailed with the wind "on the nose" making some wonderful stops on the way, but lousy sailing conditions.

Whilst we still wanted to visit some interesting Caribbean Islands, we decided it was time to bypass them, go with the wind, cover some miles and get closer to home.

We sailed 450 nautical miles in 4 nights/3 days in 15 to 30 knot winds at varying speeds of 4 to 9 knots.

Lots of: white caps, rock'n' and rollin', booby birds, flying fish (we actually had one fly in the bathroom hatch..how unlucky was he!).

Highlight: A little whale breaching nearby.

Low point: "Are we there yet?"

Next stop ..Venezuela...woohoo!!
