The Old CIty in Colonia is a beautiful mix of cobblestone streets, fucshia flowers clinging to door frames and tourists cycling around town. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is filled with colonial-stlye buildings and small narrow roads.

Set along the waterfront, Colonia gives off a certain charm and sense of tranquility. It was truly relaxing. A walk along the docks, takes you to old fishing boats and fisherman in the water.

A small beach near downtown was a perfect place for me to bask in the sun for the afternoon as my time in Uruguay was coming to an end.

That evening, I had a dinner at an interesting restaurant called Barrio Viejo right across from the church. The main waiter would come out with weird colorful hats that he would change like every 5 minutes. Sometimes, he would burst out of the restaurant singing a song. It was quite entertaining.
